Lift of the Year 2023 - Crane Assosiation of NZ
We are thrilled to announce our victory in the CANZ Lift of the Year Award, recognizing our exceptional achievement in successfully installing the Cattaneo CM 371 self-erecting crane on a challenging construction site in Auckland, New Zealand. As the largest of its kind ever brought into the country by Bannan Cranes, this accomplishment highlights our commitment to innovation and excellence in crane operations.
Faced with the complexities of an ongoing construction site, we collaborated closely with Cattaneo and overcame challenges by opting for an erect lift solution, a first for the CM 371 model. Working hand in hand with Ashton Crane Hire and the client, we ensured the crane's balance and stability during the lift, utilizing custom lifting brackets strategically positioned atop the crane mast.
Despite challenges such as the removal of 'belly' counterweights and overcoming site-specific obstacles, our team, in collaboration with Ashton Crane Hire, successfully completed the installation. This achievement not only merits the CANZ Lift of the Year Award but also establishes self-erecting cranes as versatile solutions for even the trickiest construction sites in New Zealand. Smaller in size than typical tower cranes, these self-erecting cranes offer significant benefits to both residential and commercial projects, providing a more efficient alternative to traditional crane solutions.
